About Tofino

Tofino is a small, but picturesque community located at the tip of the Esowista Peninsula, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The terminus of the Trans Canada Highway is located here. While Tofino is technically “the end of the road”, it is actually the gateway to spectacular Clayoquot Sound – an invitation to adventure.
From rainforest trails, misty beaches, old growth forests, bald eagles, bears and whales – Tofino has it all. 20 kilometers of sand beaches draw birdwatchers, surfers, beachcombers and whalewatchers. The “Emerald Sea” brings deep sea fishermen, scuba divers, kayakers and storm watchers. For hikers, Tofino has many kilometers of wilderness hiking through temperate rainforests of breathtaking beauty.
Art galleries in Tofino showcase native art and crafts and the local museum provides a glimpse of the town’s transformation from a remote fishing village to the most popular destination on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Tofino offers all the amenities the vacation traveller requires, but still maintains the quaint charm of the original village.
